– Kris Baker –
President, daily operations, accounting, trip coordinator
“After my first trip to Haiti in 1999, I had no desire to ever return. God has done amazing things in my life since and Haiti has a huge part in my family’s life. After 20+ trips and adopting 4 Haitian children, I am so thankful for the chance to work with the Haitian people and the opportunities I have been given. I am so amazed that God could use me to help accomplish His plan.”

– Lee Durston –
Vice President, operations manager, trip coordinator
Lee Durston lives with his family on Vashon Island in the Puget Sound. He and his wife Krissy have had their lives changed by God’s calling to adopt children in need. To date, they have four adopted children (special delivery) and two biological children (homemade) which fill their lives with blessings. Lee works as a Building Scientist in the Architectural and Engineering industry and Krissy is a professional Mom. In 2006 the Durstons completed their adoption of Woodson from Haiti and brought him home to the U.S. During their visits to Haiti during Woodson’s adoption their hearts were broken for the people and especially the children of Haiti. Since then, Lee and Krissy have volunteered with Answered Prayers to make a difference for the suffering children of Haiti. As V.P. of Answered Prayers, Lee serves as a operations manager and as a leader of mission trips.

– Gladys Scrimsher –
Registered Nurse
God has given me a passion to share the love of Jesus Christ through nursing. When my husband and I were missionaries for four and one-half years in the South Pacific my primary ministry was doing just that. This included hands on medical work with the nationals and teaching ways to promote good health and hygiene. I’ve been privileged to serve in a similar capacity three times in Haiti, working with both adults and children, and each time praying the Lord will use my life to further His will. You might find me in PAP at an orphanage, on the mountains outside of PAP, or in a village-school setting. People everywhere need the Lord and they have health problems. When at home in the States I enjoy researching information that will be helpful for problems the people are experiencing. I’m very thankful for the behind the scenes medical team God has assembled to assist me. These include a college nursing instructor who has supplied me with up-to-date books and local physicians and a pharmacist who give council and supplies. I’ve met many beautiful Haitians who express appreciation for the smallest things. I have a special interest in this work since four of our grandchildren who now live only three houses from us are from Haiti.
